How Much Time Does A Sewer Camera Inspection Take?

The duration of a sewer camera inspection can vary depending on several factors, including the complexity of the plumbing system, the length of the sewer lines, and the presence of any issues or obstructions. On average, a sewer camera inspection typically takes anywhere from 1 to 2 hours to complete.

The duration of a hydrostatic test can also vary depending on several factors, such as the size and complexity of the plumbing system, the number of pipes being tested, and the specific requirements of the test. In general, for residential properties with a relatively simple plumbing system, a hydrostatic test might take around 2 to 4 hours.

What Do You Inspect?

At Houston Plumbing Inspections and Services, we conduct thorough inspections of various aspects of your plumbing system to ensure its optimal performance and integrity. Our inspections typically cover the following areas and components:

-Main Drain Laterals: We inspect the main sewer or drain laterals running from your property to the street or septic system, as well as the section directly beneath your house.

-Visible Defects: Our inspections focus on identifying visible defects such as obstructions, offsets, bellies, breaks, rust and scaling, and other observable conditions within the inspected areas.

-Cleanout Configurations/Defects: We assess cleanout configurations and any defects associated with them, which can impact the accessibility of certain areas for inspection.

It's important to note that while our sewer camera and hydrostatic inspections are comprehensive and informative, they may not reveal certain conditions such as pipe wall thickness or leaks. In such cases, further investigation and testing by a licensed plumber may be required for a more in-depth assessment. If you have specific concerns or questions about our inspection process, please feel free to contact us for additional information.

Do You Offer Repair Estimates?

We are an inspection company - we do not offer repair estimates. However, free estimates can be obtained from any qualified plumbing contractor. Simply find a repair contractor of your choice and send our report over for an estimate. Click here for a list of contractor referrals.

Can I Be There For The Inspection?

Certainly, however, the ideal time for the consultation with the inspector is towards the conclusion of the inspection itself. The inspection process can sometimes be lengthy. If you prefer, the inspector would be more than willing to provide you with a courtesy call approximately 30 minutes before their anticipated completion time. This will allow you ample time to arrive for the final wrap-up if you choose to do so.

What Time Should I Meet You?

The inspector will reach out to you approximately 30 minutes in advance to coordinate the wrap-up session.

When Will I Receive The Report?

The written report will be delivered to you by no later than 9am on the morning following the inspection.

Can My Dad Come To The Inspection?

Certainly! If you hold someone's opinion in high regard, feel free to invite them to join you for the wrap-up.
